Trialist Riordan set for run-out

East Fife will include former Hibs, Celtic and Scotland striker Derek Riordan as a trialist for the second time when Annan visit Bayview.

The Fifers will also have trialist goalkeeper Scott Bennett involved as Jordan Millar is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Caolan McAleer and Kevin Smith remain sidelined with knee injuries while Nathan Austin is rated doubtful as player/manager Gary Naysmith looks for his men to move to within a point of the Galabank side, who sit fourth in the table.

Naysmith said: "This is a big game in our season as a win really puts us in the chase for a play-off place."

Annan will be without the injured Stuart McColm (heel) and Matty Flynn (knee) as they look to keep their hosts at arm's length in the top half of the table. Ryan McStay is rated as a major injury doubt, but Kenny Mackay, who has been absent fo6r most of the season with a knee problem, could feature.

Manager Jim Chapman said: "East Fife are an improving side but we are going there with some confidence after good wins over Queen's Park and Arbroath.

"Our performances have been more workman-like than sparkling but I would settle for that again to get the win and keep East Fife a good few points away."
