Summer signing Chris Duggan to miss Albion clash

League Two Champions East Fife will be without summer signing Chris Duggan when they host Albion due to a hamstring injury.

Player/ manager Gary Naysmith appreciates the challenge of getting past one of the meanest defences in League One if they are to start off with a three-point haul.

Naysmith said: "Albion Rovers have been terrific defensively over the past two seasons. They are well-organised at the back and getting the better of them will be difficult.

"However we have prepared hard for this new season and will be looking to get our first win."

Rovers hope to secure the services of former Hibs, Livingston and Falkirk defender Kevin McCann before kick-off at Bayview.

Paul Archibald is the only doubt for Player/ manager Darren Young as he is carrying a knock.

Young said: "We were in East Fife's position 12 months ago when we took on Ayr United in our first game following winning the league and promotion. We took a huge lift from the Flag Presentation and the excitement from the crowd and went out and won 3-0.

"We need to guard against that happening in reverse. We put in a terrific performance down at Kilmarnock last weekend and will look to build on that."
