East Fife keep the pressure on Elgin with victory over Arbroath

East Fife maintained the pressure on Scottish League Two leaders Elgin with a 2-1 victory over Arbroath.

Nathan Austin had a shot cleared off the line early on but there was no keeping out his header from Steven Campbell's pinpoint cross in first-half stoppage time.

Austin caused Arbroath problems all afternoon and it was his ball across which gave Jamie Insall an easy tap-in to double East Fife's lead in the 64th minute.

Arbroath substitute Keiran Stewart found the net with a stunning long-range strike two minutes from time but East Fife held on to remain two points behind Elgin at the summit.
