East Fife 1-0 Stirling: Match Report

East Fife leave it late

A late Ryan Wallace strike gave East Fife their third straight win as they leapfrogged opponents Stirling into fourth place with a 1-0 victory.

There was only one shot that troubled either keeper in a dour first-half, with Gavin McPherson's long-range effort easily kept out by Mark Ridgers in the East Fife goal.

The second period was much of the same until Stirling defender Brian Allison fouled Robert Ogleby in the box.

Ogleby claimed responsibility for the penalty but a weak effort was easily saved by Sam Filler diving to his right.

But the on-loan striker's blushes were spared with two minutes remaining as Wallace rifled home from the edge of the box to grab all three points.
