Robert Linn gets Arbroath up and running

Robert Linn's late free-kick gave Arbroath their first win of the Ladbrokes Scottish League Two season, with a 1-0 scoreline at East Fife.

Arbroath's Sergio Cecilia pulled an early effort past the post before team-mate Darren Ramsay sweetly struck an effort which went just over the crossbar.

East Fife's Kevin Smith missed the target either side of half-time, his second-half effort sailing over the crossbar.

Arbroath's Andy Ryan forced Fife stopper Ryan Goodfellow into making an excellent reaction save, while Richard Little headed over for the visitors from six yards.

Linn won it in the 80th minute, as his well-taken free-kick nestled into the top corner past Goodfellow.

Buoyed by their goal, the visitors pressed for a second as they comfortably saw out the result, but they remain two points adrift at the bottom of the league standings.
