Dunfermline Athletic defender Scott Wilson says he will not be fit for his side's Scottish FA Cup final against Celtic later this month.
The 27-year-old has been out for nearly a month after undergoing an appendix operation and he is not going to be ready for the Hampden Park showpiece against Celtic.
He told The Courier: "I've lost something like half a stone, which isn't surprising considering I couldn't eat for five days.
"The aim now is to get myself fully fit for next season. There is no chance I'll make the final.
"I've been told that if you rush back from an appendix operation you can develop a hernia.
"Missing out is obviously a major disappointment, a terrific opportunity has been taken away from me and there is nothing I can do about that, but I'll get over it.
"I'd have felt worse if I hadn't been involved in a cup final before with Rangers and hopefully, at 27, another chance will come along for me."
