Dunfermline captain Scott Thomson is close to a first-team return after coming through a reserve team game unscathed.
The 35-year-old midfielder has been sidelined for almost 12 months following two Achilles tendon operations but played in the second string's victory against Falkirk reserves.
Pars manager Stephen Kenny said: "Scott had 70 minutes and came through it OK. He's worked hard and I think he'll come into the picture in the next few weeks.
"He's remained determined despite spending a frustrating season on the outside looking in. He wants to get back and make a contribution."
