Shields to leave Pars for America

Dunfermline Athletic have confirmed that defender Greg Shields has left East End Park and is poised to join Carolina Railhawks in the USA. The First Division club's website stated: "He has an offer from USL1 club Carolina Railhawks, which he is seriously considering." Carolina currently sit top of the 11-team league and are coached by a Scot, Martin Rennie. Shields said: "It is really too good an opportunity not to accept."
