Dunfermline Athletic boss Jim Leishman has warned striker Jim McIntyre not to try and rush his recovery from an operation to fix a trapped nerve in his neck.

The 34-year-old has yet to feature for the Pars since his summer arrival from Dundee United and Leishman isn't expecting his player back until the end of the year.

He told The Courier: "He has come through the operation well and we all think it has been a success.

"The type of op it was means that he can't do things like drive so it will be frustrating for him. But he should be more mobile in a few weeks' time and then it will be on to the rehab.

"We are hoping he will be back at the end of the year, but there is no pressure on him and he will take his time."
