Double Young blow for Pars

Friday Apr 21 2006 10:30

Dunfermline Athletic will be without both Darren and Derek Young for the rest of the season as they battle to stave off the threat of relegation.

Darren had already been ruled out due to a foot injury, but he has now been joined by his brother Derek, who has failed to recover from a double hernia operation.

Manager Jim Leishman told The Courier: "We thought Derek's injury had gone away but it came back, so he's got to rest.

"Derek and Darren aren't pleased. They want to take part and help us through this time of the season, but unfortunately they can't."

The duo both moved to East End Park in the summer of 2003 on free transfers from Aberdeen.
