Smith poised for Pars place

Dunfermline manager Jim Jefferies is expected to give striker Allan Smith his first start of the season when Stirling Albion visit East End Park.

Jefferies is keen to pep things up after last Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Stenhousemuir, and goalkeeper Ryan Scully and Lewis Spence are both available after knocks while Lewis Martin has returned unscathed from Scotland Under-19 duty.

That means Ryan Wallace is the only injury absentee due to a pelvic problem.

Jefferies said: "We are not getting the points we should be as we are not converting chances when we are well on top. We have guys waiting for a chance and they well get one."

Bottom of the table Stirling have Craig Comrie available again for the first time in nearly three months after a stomach muscle injury.

Lewis Coult is also set to be included if he can prove his fitness after an ankle problem.

Recently-appointed manager Stuart McLaren said: "It is a terrific game for our players to be involved in however we need to guard against Dunfermline looking to bounce back from losing to Stenhousemuir last weekend by turning us over.

"I have been happy with what I have seen in my three games in charge and a repeat of the performance against Stranraer last weekend would be terrific."
