Cardle cleared to play for Pars

Dunfermline can call on Joe Cardle against Stenhousemuir after his red card for violent conduct against Ayr United was rescinded on appeal.

Further good news for the Pars is that Andy Geggan has returned to training after injury and should make manager Allan Johnston's squad. However, Callum Fordyce and Ryan Williamson remain out as they both continue to recover from broken legs.

Johnston said: "Stenhousemuir were having a decent run in the league until last weekend's result against Albion Rovers but had it not been for a missed penalty they may have got something from that game also.

"We had to work hard to keep Ayr off top spot and need to do the same again."

Stenhousemuir are again without the injured Ciaran Summers (groin) and Allan Smith (hip) as they look to make amends for a 5-0 defeat from Dunfermline in the first meeting between the sides this season.

Manager Brown Ferguson said: "We know that we are facing a tough game at a tough venue against a confident side but the main thing for us is how we perform. Our objective is to play a lot better than the last time the teams met as we were very poor that day.

"If we do that then we have a platform to build on and allow us to take something home with us."
