Pars hopeful on trio

Dunfermline are hopeful that Ryan Williamson, Alex Whittle and Andy Geggan will overcome knocks to play against Peterhead at East End Park in what will be the first-ever league meeting between the clubs.

Allan Smith misses out with tonsillitis, Faissal El Bakhtaoui is out with a knee injury and Ryan Wallace is absent with a pelvis problem.

Pars boss Jim Jefferies said: "We were disappointing against Morton last weekend and paid the price with a defeat. I am expecting a reaction against Peterhead and I'm sure I'll get one.

"Our performances at home have been strong this season and we will need another one to win."

Peterhead could be without six players as David Cox remains sidelined with a foot problem and Andy Rodgers is out with a pelvic injury while Dean Cowie, Scott Ross, Jamie Stevenson and Mark Millar all face fitness tests.

Balmoor manager Jim McInally said: "We could be going there with a weakened side, but it's a game we are looking forward to. No-one is expecting us to do anything so there is no pressure and the boys can enjoy the game.

"The players battled well to get the win over Stenhousemuir last weekend and that means I don't need to worry about confidence for this one."
