Pars and Blue Brazil ready for battle

Dunfermline welcome back Stephen Husband from suspension for their crunch relegation clash with Fife neighbours Cowdenbeath at what the financially-troubled club hope will be a busy East End Park.

The Pars, who sit just three points behind the Blue Brazil in the relegation play-off spot following their 15-point deduction for going into administration, will be missing Andy Geggan and Ryan Wallace due to ankle injuries.

Defender Calum Morris, however, could be involved if he passes a fitness test.

Manager Jim Jefferies said: "Our young side were magnificent against Morton last weekend when we won 1-0 and we need them to be magnificent again.

"Hopefully there will be a great atmosphere to help our players. It would be a real lift for everyone for the last couple of games if we could get a win and get ahead of Cowdenbeath on goal difference."

Cowdenbeath are in good shape as they make the short journey to Dunfermline.

Scott Linton and Craig Moore are available after injury while Lewis Milne is also included in the travelling party after overcoming tonsillitis.

Player/manager Colin Cameron and Jamie Stevenson are both expected to pass late fitness tests, leaving only long-term absentees Pablo Navas (hip), Liam Cusack (knee) and Joe Mbu (ankle) on the sidelines.

Cameron said: "Dunfermline had a good result last week when they beat Morton so they will be confident but we are confident as well. We won the last meeting 4-2 and a repeat of that performance and result would be terrific.

"We will be looking for the win that will open up a six-point gap."
