Moffat missing but Ogwu is back

Dunfermline striker Michael Moffat may miss out against former club Ayr as his wife is due to give birth this weekend.

The Pars are already without Stuart Urquhart (hamstring), Ryan Williamson (knee) and Ryan Wallace (pelvis), but Gozie Ogwu has shrugged off an injury and is included in the squad.

Manager Jim Jefferies said: "We have played Ayr a good few times in recent seasons and thankfully have had the upper hand.

"Hopefully it will be the same after this game, but we have to be careful as they have experienced players that can hurt you.

"They have been inconsistent, but they are dangerous."

Ayr have injury doubts over Peter Murphy and Dale Shirkie as they get ready to face the team manager Mark Roberts has described as the best equipped to win League One.

Roberts said: "Dunfermline have the best squad in this division and should be the winners come next May.

"But they are not unbeatable and when they won 1-0 at our place earlier in the season we were the better team, so we are going there with a chance.

"Our recent results have not been great, but if Peter and Dale are fit it will be our strongest squad for months and everyone is determined to turn things around."
