Problems mount for Pars ahead of Rovers visit

Dunfermline host Albion Rovers for the first time in the league for nearly 30 years.

The Pars have problems ahead of the game as Shaun Rooney and Jason Talbot are both doubts while Callum Fordyce and Ryan Williamson are out due to broken legs. Lewis Spence is still missing with a shoulder injury.

East End Park boss Allan Johnston is relying heavily on his assistant manager Sandy Clark for information on the visitors.

He said: "Sandy was the assistant manager at Rovers last season and he has talked me through all their players. They have made a good start to their season but if we go about our business properly then we should win."

Albion player/manager Darren Young could miss out on starting against one of his former sides after losing his place due to illness when his side won 1-0 at Stranraer in their last away game. Alan Reid is the only injury doubt.

"I have not started the last two games and we have won them both so I cannot see myself slotting into start this game," said Young.

"We have made a good start to the league and are sitting in the top half, however it could have actually been better. This will be a tough task but it is a game that we can look forward to."
