Geggan double downs Stranraer

Skipper Andy Geggan led by example as his brace helped Dunfermline to a 4-2 aggregate win over Stranraer and a Championship play-off final date with Cowdenbeath.

Pars midfielder Geggan endured a frustrating first half, putting an early header wide and then seeing his shot from 25 yards crash against the crossbar.

Faissal El Bakhtaoui was also denied by the woodwork after the interval when his shot struck a post.

But Geggan levelled the tie in the 59th minute when he pounced from close range following a goalmouth scramble.

Stranraer attempted to hit back and Grant Gallagher fired over, Jamie Longworth put a header just wide and Sean Winter was denied by Pars keeper Ryan Scully before the end of normal time.

Dunfermline asserted themselves in extra time and after Geggan's header from Danny Grainger's delivery made it 2-0, El Bakhtaoui sealed their progress with a neat finish into the bottom corner.
