Stranraer slip up

Stranraer slipped off the top of the Scottish League One table after a disappointing 1-0 defeat away at mid-table Dunfermline.

The first half was fairly even with both sides having opportunities to take the lead. Stranraer's Sean Winter saw his header from the centre of the box saved by Ryan Scully.

Andy Geggen then attempted to chip David Mitchell, but the Stranraer goalkeeper comfortably held Geggan's effort.

The second period saw the home side press hard for the opening goal. Ryan Thomson hit a 25-yard shot straight at Mitchell, before Geggan tried his luck with a low right-footed drive along the ground, but he was again denied by the away goalkeeper.

The deadlock was finally broken with just eight minutes remaining. Substitute Fayssal El Bakhtaoui fired in a low drive right-footed from the edge of the box into the bottom left of Mitchell's goal.
