Cardle goal enough for Pars Joe Cardle's late strike was enough to earn Dunfermline three points as they claimed a 1-0 win over Queen of the South. The Pars had chances to open the scoring in the first half but Calum Woods missed the target and Nick Phinn's header was easily saved by David Hutton. Andy Kirk had a great chance to open the scoring for the home side after the interval but his shot was brilliantly tipped around the post by Hutton, before Dunfermline were reduced to 10 men in the 74th minute when Willie Gibson was sent off for violent conduct. Cardle struck with four minutes remaining as he converted a David Graham cross from close range to move Dunfermline back to the top of the table.
