Dunfermline 0-0 Partick: Match Report

14 December 2010 22:09
Pars pull clear after draw Dunfermline extended their lead at the top of the First Division to three points but could only manage a goalless draw at home to Partick. In an even first half, Partick created the better chances. Chris Erskine saw a shot blocked before Simon Donnelly's header was saved by Athletic goalkeeper Chris Smith. Dunfermline were largely restricted to long-range efforts, with Nick Phinn's 20-yard strike eight minutes before the break which forced Scott Fox into a good save, the closest they came. The home side had the better opportunities after half-time, with Joe Cardle curling over from 12 yards before Steven McDougall missed the target from close range. Donnelly's blocked header was the best Thistle could muster in the second period as they held on.
