Scotland Under-21s goalkeeper Craig Samson has joined Dundee United on a one-year contract.
Samson turned down the chance to extend his stay with Kilmarnock during the summer after becoming frustrated by his lack of first-team opportunities and United boss Gordon Chisholm was happy to take advantage of the situation.
"We're delighted to get Craig signed up before the European deadline and he'll go straight into the squad for the game with Aberdeen," said Chisholm.
"Craig made a bold decision to leave Killie, especially as they put a contract on the table, and that sort of ambition impressed me.
"He's hungry to do well and feels he's got something to prove to people, so Derek (Stillie) is going to be pushed hard for his place in the team."
Samson made just one first-team appearance during his four years at Kilmarnock, but gained plenty of senior experience during loan spells with Queen of the South and St Johnstone.
