United get their man
11 Aug 2006 - 09:30:49
Dundee United have completed the signing of utility man David Proctor from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a £40,000 deal.
The 22-year-old, who is equally comfortable at right-back or on the right side of midfield, had been told he was not in Caley boss Charlie Christie's plans for the current season.
However, United manager Craig Brewster rates Proctor highly from his time in charge at Inverness and is excited by the prospect of working with him again.
Brewster told United's official website: "I am delighted to finally get David. He is a good solid defender but can also pose a goal threat going forward.
"Subject to formalities, he will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game [at Kilmarnock], but is also viewed as one for the future being only 22 years old.
"I see the signing as another building block in the long-term process of building a competitive squad."
