Terrors tie up Daly deal
23 Dec 2008 - 14:25:35
Jon Daly has pledged his long-term future to Dundee United by penning a three-year contract extension which will keep him at Tannadice until the end of the 2011-12 campaign.
The 25-year-old striker joined the club almost two years ago from Hartlepool United and has gone on to score ten times in 35 appearances for the Terrors.
Manager Craig Levein told the club's official website "Jon's the type of player all clubs need.
"He provides a big strong physical presence up front, as a targetman to play in others, but he also provides a definite goal threat.
"He's been very unfortunate with injuries in his time here, but these problems are now behind him and he's benefited from a run of games in the first team.
"I like his approach to the job and his contribution to the team and I'm sure he'll also add to his goals tally during the rest of the season.
"Jon's an important player for Dundee United, with his best yet to come, and I'm therefore delighted to tie him up for a further three years."
