Terrors swoop for new duo

Dundee United have completed the double capture of goalkeeper Michael McGovern and striker Andis Shala.

McGovern, 23, has joined the Terrors after failing to break into the first team at Celtic, while teenage striker Shala has arrived at Tannadice from German side VfR Mannheim.

"I want competition for Lukasz Zaluska and Michael will provide that," manager Craig Levein told the club's official website.

"He is very well thought of at Celtic, but at a club that size first-team opportunities for young players can be difficult to get.

"It's good to get another striker and that's Noel Hunt, Jon Daly, Kevin Smith and now Andis in the squad.

"There's a chance I'll add another before the summer is out."
