Terrors keen to keep Duff

Dundee United have offered a new two-year contract extension to midfielder Stuart Duff in an effort to kill off interest in the player from Aberdeen.

The 23-year-old has impressed Terrors boss Ian McCall since switching from defence to midfield and has been offered the chance to extend his stay at Tannadice.

McCall told the Press & Journal: "We have offered Stuart a new deal as I believe he has a future here as a midfielder.

"When I first came here, I saw him play a couple of games in that position. I should have trusted my instinct back then and put him in that position for good.

"Although he may have to drop back to the defence because others are out, I see him as a midfield player, where he can offer us something different."
