Terrors fearing Daly absence

Dundee United boss Craig Levein fears that striker Jon Daly will be out for a lengthy period after suffering a knee injury in the 2-2 draw with Hibernian.

The 26-year-old Irishman has already suffered a major knee injury during his time with the Terrors and Levein fears that the new injury is a repeat of Daly's earlier problems.

He told The Courier: "We'll know more once Jon gets a scan, but it looks like he's done his medial and anterior cruciate ligaments.

"It's the same knee as he injured before, so we're fearing the worst. He's had a terrible time with injuries, it's a real shame for him.

"But he signed a three-year contract a few months ago, so has security from that point of view and as Jon's a strong boy, mentally and physically, I know he'll deal with it."
