Terrors fear Kovacevic blow

Dundee United defender Mihael Kovacevic is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, after suffering a knee injury during a training run while on holiday.

The 22-year-old is currently back in his Swiss homeland and Terrors boss Peter Houston is anxiously waiting for a full verdict.

He told the Press & Journal: "We're still waiting on the exact details, but Mihael is back home at the moment and has been in touch to say he's hurt his knee.

"We fear he may have ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and, if that's the case, he'll be out for some time.

"I'll be speaking to him soon, but in the meantime he's had scans and they are being sent to our club doctor, who will have a look at them and decide the best course of action.

"I'm devastated for Mihael, especially as it has happened when he's been just trying to keep himself in good nick over the holidays."
