Dundee United chairman Eddie Thompson has warned the club's management that he will not accept anything less than a top-six SPL finish.
Thompson laid down the ultimatum after picking up an OBE for his achievements in retailing.
"We are ninth in the league at the moment and must improve that," he said.
"A top-six finish is vital for this club in terms of cash flow and from an image point of view. Anything less than that is unacceptable."
