Dundee United manager Craig Levein has revealed he is poised to complete the signing of defender Sean Dillon.
The 23-year-old Shelbourne full-back has arrived at Tannadice for talks and is expected to join fellow Irishman Jon Daly - who signed from Hartlepool last week - in the Terrors' ranks.
"Sean is slightly different from Jon in that he has not played since the game when Shelbourne won the Irish League at the end of October, so we will have to check on his fitness," said Levein referring to Dillon's ability to go straight into contention for a first-team berth.
"It should not take him too long to get back up to scratch, though, and I will be happy to get him.
"We've had Christian Kalvenes out for a few games now and we've also been asking Lee Mair to operate as a makeshift full-back.
"While I won't want to move him round too much, Sean can play in both full-back positions, so it will be good to have a versatile player like him added to the squad."
