Dundee United have handed striker Kevin Smith the chance to resurrect his career with a short-term contract until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old former Sunderland, Leeds United and Dundee forward has been training with the Terrors as he looks to recover from a second knee operation.
"Kevin has been here for a while, looking to get over a knee injury," manager Craig Levein told the Dundee Courier.
"But he's fit enough to play now and we've signed him on a contract until the end of the season so he can take part in reserve games."
