Terrors accept Swanson ban
30 Sep 2009 - 15:01:20
Dundee United have decided against an appeal over midfielder Danny Swanson's sending-off in the 3-2 victory at St Johnstone.
Swanson was red-carded late on in the game at McDiarmid Park by referee Dougie McDonald, following a late challenge of Saints winger Gavin Swankie.
Terrors boss Craig Levein told The Courier: "I have spoken to (SFA head of referees development) Hugh Dallas and he said that, under the directive the referees were given, Danny's tackle merited a red card.
"This season a challenge like that will result in a sending-off.
"As long as that is the case for everyone, we can accept that, so we won't be appealing."
