Progress pleases Conway
08 Mar 2007 - 11:24:11
Dundee United midfielder Craig Conway is pleased with his first season in the SPL, despite seeing his campaign ending prematurely by a foot injury.
The 21-year-old has been a regular starter for the Terrors since his summer move from Ayr United, but will miss the rest of the campaign after requiring surgery on a broken metatarsal.
He told The Courier: "I've definitely played a lot more than I initially thought I would in my first season.
"Also, I feel as though I've come on leaps and bounds by playing against such a quality level of opposition.
"I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a big step up. Of course it is a jump going from the second division to the top-flight in Scotland.
"The pace of the game is much quicker in the SPL. At the start I felt I had something to prove and that spurred me on."
