Dundee United striker Lee Miller is likely to miss the rest of the season after breaking an arm during Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Rangers.
The 22-year-old played through the pain barrier to complete the full 90 minutes, but a subsequent X-ray revealed the extent of the damage.
Terrors manager Craig Brewster told the Evening Telegraph: "Lee fell awkwardly after a challenge from Barry Ferguson and his arm was a bit sore when he came into the dressing-room at half-time.
"He was able to play on, but he has had an X-ray and apparently there is a break.
"Right now, we are not sure how long he is going to be out for and he is going to have a more detailed scan tomorrow, but obviously, he could be struggling for a while.
"With Lee out and Jim McIntyre not fit either we are down to three strikers to pick from, and one of them (David Goodwillie), is only 16."
The Gers clash was particularly costly for United as goalkeeper Derek Stillie is also struggling to play again this term after breaking a finger during the game.
