Levein urges United caution

New Dundee United manager Craig Levein has refused to be carried away despite seeing the Terrors defeat Rangers in his first game in charge.

Lee Mair headed a late winner for struggling United at Tannadice, but Levein, who replaced the sacked Craig Brewster just days before Sunday's memorable victory, has warned his side that they still have plenty of work to do to beat the drop.

"I'm thrilled but it is only one match and that's what I have to stress," he said.

"What happened (against Rangers) is we got that thing that happens when a new manager comes in. We got the concentration and determination.

"We've got a result but we are second bottom of the SPL and we are under no illusions.

"There has been under-achievement here on a regular basis in the past so we will have to wait and see what happens next week.

"We can't allow this to be a one-off. It has to be the catalyst for something."
