Dundee United manager Craig Levein dedicated Tuesday's CIS Cup semi-final victory over Aberdeen to club chairman Eddie Thompson.
The Terrors reached the final after an emphatic 4-1 victory over the Dons at Tynecastle and afterwards Levein paid tribute to his unwell chairman.
Goals from Darren Dods, Christian Kalvenes, Craig Conway and Morgaro Gomis secured United's passage to the final.
"The person I am most pleased for is the chairman. He has shown more courage than anyone in his current health situation," said Levein.
"He has shown such bravery and fortitude - that was for him.
"I couldn't tell you how anxious I have been over the last few weeks. I desperately wanted to get to a cup final for him and I have been trying not to show it. It's such a huge relief.
"To come out and dominate a game against a very good Aberdeen side was beyond my wildest dreams."
