Dundee United manager Craig Levein has opted not to offer permanent contracts to trialists Jani Sturm and Marc-Eric Guei.
Levein is keen to sign a new striker after missing out on Chris Porter, who opted to move from Oldham Athletic to Motherwell earlier this month, but both the trialists did little to impress.
"Neither showed enough to convince me that a longer stay was warranted and both have been told so," Levein told the Terrors' official website.
"It's disappointing, but it's important we get the right type of player for this role."
