    Levein sad to lose Zaluska

    18 Dec 2008 - 09:44:02

Dundee United manager Craig Levein has admitted to being disappointed that goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has rejected the offer of a new contract from the club.

The 26-year-old Pole is expected to sign a pre-contract agreement with Celtic in the New Year, but Levein has ruled out allowing Zaluska to move on before next summer.

He told the Daily Record: "Lukasz told us he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

"We have offered him the best deal we could, but he has decided to move on.

"He won't be leaving until the summer though, because I'm not in the habit of changing goalkeepers and I don't want to cause disruption to the team.

"I can understand his decision because this maybe is an opportunity for him to make serious money.

"It's disappointing that the club won't get any money for him, but that's what happens in the game these days."
