Levein mulls loan option

Dundee United manager Craig Levein is considering allowing teenage striker David Goodwillie to join Airdrie United on loan.

The 17-year-old has been a regular member of the Terrors first-team squad this term and Levein is unsure whether to allow Goodwillie to exit on a temporary basis.

He told The Courier: "I will have to seriously think about it. It is something I am definitely considering, but David is only 17.

"In all honesty, I wouldn't normally put someone that age out on loan.

"David is still such a young guy, although you forget that because he has been in and around the first-team a fair bit.

"If he were 19 or 20 he would be away to another side already and loan deals do interest me as a way of getting players experience. But I am reluctant to let people so young leave."
