Levein keen to keep Gomis

Dundee United boss Craig Levein has warned that midfielder Morgaro Gomis will not be allowed to leave the SPL club on the cheap.

Ipswich Town are reported to be interested in the 24-year-old, but Levein does not want to lose one of his key players.

He told the Evening Telegraph: "First of all, there has to be a bid from someone before we can respond to it. There hasn't, so we can't.

"But one thing I'm happy to tell you is that if Hamilton can sell their best player for £1.8million (James McCarthy), there is no way we would consider selling Gomis for under half that.

"He's under contract, we don't want to sell him and we don't have to sell, so we don't need to consider anything at this type of figure."
