Levein issues Flood warning
25 Jan 2009 - 10:40:11
Dundee United boss Craig Levein has admitted that he fears midfielder Willo Flood could be about to leave the club to join Celtic.
The 23-year-old Irishman is currently on loan with the Terrors from Cardiff City, but has been linked with a switch to Parkhead in recent days.
Levein said after the 3-2 win over St Mirren: "I haven't heard a word from anybody about Willo Flood.
"Cardiff haven't been in touch with us and Celtic haven't been in touch with us.
"But you have to remember in this situation that we aren't even in the loop. If Celtic want Willo Flood, they go to Cardiff to get Willo Flood, not us.
"I desperately want to keep him, but when things are going well and your team is doing well and there are bigger clubs out there with more money, you lose players.
"I'm maybe ahead of the game here and it might never happen, but I don't know because no-one has to contact me for any reason.
"If we do lose him, that's too bad because he is a player I desperately want to keep."
