Dundee United manager Craig Levein is unsure whether Lee Mairdeserves to be offered a new contract at the end of this season.

The 26-year-old central defender's current deal expires in the summer and he recently asked the Terrors boss about the possibility of being awarded a new contract.

But Levein told the Dundee Courier: "I told him the answer at this minute in time would be no, but that could change between now and the summer when he's played some more matches.

"Lee hasn't had a lot of football in the last couple of years and that's obviously an issue."
