Dundee United manager Craig Levein hopes to entice James Wesolowski back to Tannadice next season.
The 21-year-old Australian impressed in his eight appearances for the Terrors during a recent loan spell from Leicester City.
Wesolowski has returned to the Walkers Stadium after suffering a torn hamstring, but Levein said: "Considering James wasn't fit and had been out for so long with injury, I think he did a really good job for us.
"His fitness gradually got better and he was having more influence on games. Hopefully, we'll see him back again next season if we can do a deal with Leicester.
"We have an option on him, so I'll speak to his club and see what happens from there."
