Kovacevic fillip for Terrors

Dundee United could welcome Mihael Kovacevic back from a fractured cheekbone sooner than expected, with the defender set to trial a protective mask.

The Switzerland-born defender suffered the injury against Aberdeen last month and was expected to be out of action for up to eight weeks.

However, Terrors boss Craig Levein hopes the stopper could be back in action much sooner.

He said: "Mihael has been fitted for the mask and he'll be able to try it out when he gets back on Monday.

"We'll see how it goes after that and maybe he'll be back quicker than first expected."
