Kovacevic close to a return

Dundee United defender Mihael Kovacevic is unlikely to feature against St Mirren this weekend, despite being fitted with a protective mask to cover his broken cheekbone.

The 20-year-old has not featured for the Terrors since the 1-0 victory on Aberdeen on September 20 and is set to have to wait a little longer for a return to action.

Manager Craig Levein told The Courier: "Mihael has got his mask fitted and is able to train again now.

"Saturday will probably come round a bit too quickly for him, but after this weekend is out of the way and he has had a bit more training, we will look to get him involved.

"It is really a case of him feeling confident with the injury again and being ready to play through it."
