Kenneth vows to bounce back

Tuesday Nov 01 2005 12:46

Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth has insisted his battering at the hands of Chris Sutton and John Hartson will make him a better player.

The 18-year-old defender was unable to cope with Celtic's physical frontmen during Sunday's 4-2 defeat at Tannadice, but has vowed to learn from the experience.

"Big John and Chris are two of the best strikers around so it was a great experience to play against both of them at the same time," Kenneth told the Daily Record.

"Because I'm only a youngster, they really knew how to play against me. They used their strength to roll me in and around the box and that's what good players do.

"I've been given a video to watch and when I do I'll be taking some notes. I think it's a great idea to look back at your own performance to become a better player.

"It won't be every week I come up against the quality of Hartson and Sutton. But it should stand me in good stead for the future."
