Houston: Work ethic crucial

Dundee United manager Peter Houston believes that a strong work ethic is one of the key strengths of the Tannadice squad.

The Terrors are currently third in the SPL table, with Houston having impressed since taking charge following the exit of Craig Levein for the Scotland national team job.

He told The Courier: "When we looked at bringing players here it was just as important to check their attitude as it was their ability.

"One of the biggest criteria Craig and I had for signing players was their attitude towards hard work.

"He deserves great credit for that, because he signed lots of really good boys who don't shirk for a minute.

"It is important to have that in a team, because the way we play and the way we go about our business is all about working as hard as you possibly can."
