Goodwillie boosts Terrors
24 Oct 2006 - 09:46:17
Teenage striker David Goodwillie has given struggling Dundee United a timely boost by putting pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2010.
Goodwillie, the youngest ever player to score an SPL goal, is pleased to have sorted out his long-term future and is looking forward to establishing himself as a first team regular at Tannadice.
The 17-year-old told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to follow in the footsteps of my Scotland U-19 team-mates Garry Kenneth and Greg Cameron and extend my contract at Dundee United for a longer period.
"I'm very happy at this club and with the standard of coaching which I've received throughout my time here. I'll continue to develop here and I'm looking forward to challenging for a regular first-team place."
Goodwillie has scored once in 12 SPL appearances, all as a substitute.
