Dundee United goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has suffered a new foot problem in training, just as he was battling back from a separate injury.
The 25-year-old Pole has yet to feature for the Terrors since his summer arrival and now faces another stint on the sidelines.
Head coach Craig Levein told The Courier: "Lukasz landed awkwardly on his foot and felt some pain, so we sent him straight to hospital to have it checked out.
"There is a lot of swelling around the area and because of that the results are inconclusive so far, but I have to admit it doesn't look good.
"It is too early to tell how long he will be out for. He is to go back for more X-rays later in the week, so we will have a clearer idea of what has happened then.
"The injury is to the same foot, but it is not the same injury.
"It is a freak occurrence and really frustrating because he had just come back from a long time out and was making good progress."
