Free-falling Terrors lose again
02 Jan 2010 - 16:56:53
Ten-man Aberdeen moved into the top half of the SPL table after holding on to beat managerless Dundee United 1-0 at Tannadice.
The Terrors have imploded since Craig Levein confirmed last month that he would be taking charge of the Scotland team and this loss came on the back of their 7-1 humbling at Rangers in midweek.
Charlie Mulgrew scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute, his fourth of the season, after being set up by new signing Paul Marshall.
The Dons were reduced to ten man midway through the second half when Davide Grassi was controversially sent off for violent conduct when he aimed a kick at Andy Webster.
However, Mark McGhee's side hung on to claim only the second three-point haul on their travels so far this season.
In the only other game to beat the weather, St Mirren eased their relegation fears with a vital 1-0 victory against Kilmarnock, only the second win in 12 months for the Buddies at their St Mirren Park home.
The only goal came with nine minutes left when an unmarked Chris Innes headed Andy Dorman's corner home.
St Mirren are now five points clear of rock-bottom Falkirk and three ahead of Killie.
