Dundee United midfielder Stuart Duff has no intention of being rushed into making a decision about his long-term future.
The 23-year-old has been offered a new two-year deal at Tannadice but, with his hometown club Aberdeen interested, he has told United's hierarchy he needs time to think things over.
"During the transfer window there was a suggestion of Aberdeen being interested in me, though all I knew was what I read in the papers and nothing came of it," Duff told The Courier.
"As an Aberdeen supporter it's flattering for me to be linked with them. Mum and dad are quite proud as well.
"But they don't have a say in it and I know they'll be right behind me whatever I do. If it developed into anything then I'd have a decision to make.
"Dundee United have offered me a contract which I am mulling over, but obviously it is flattering to know other clubs are interested.
"This is a big decision as I am coming up to an age when I should be at my best, but I'm leaving it on the back burner for just now because I am back in the team and playing is what I want to concentrate on."
